My Basset Hound, Copper, is male, 1 and 1/2 yrs old, and about 60 lbs. Lately he has lost his appatite, and has had diarehha. We took him to the vet and they gave him antibiotics (about a week ago). For the last 2 wks or so he has been having (for lack of a better word) tremors. Like he's shivering. Took him to the vet yesterday, he's lost almost 2 lbs from dehydration. They gave him fluid and instructed us to watch him to make sure he dosen't have a seizure. He is also whining alot. (Sometimes he does that when he wants to go for a walk, but lately it's been for no apparent or visable reason) The vet seems to have NO CLUE what's wrong with him, can you help me figure out WHAT IS WRONG WITH MY DOG????

have ur dog got vaccination yet? How about deworming pils,do u give it routinely every 3 months? And what kind of food and water u give for him? If u want to know what exactly happened with ur dog u can ask the vet about fecal smear from ur dog stool to know is there any worm infection, or blood test to figure out clearly about the problem inside ur dog body to know is there any bacterial or viral infection. So the medicine can be given correctly. I always give Kaopectate suspension for diarrhea without spesific cause. Asymptomatic diarrhea.
