Clavamox is in the Penicillin family of antibiotics...it is safe to use for cats but can cause diarrhea because it kills the good bacteria in the intestine...it is a good idea to use a probiotic along with antibiotics...i.e plain yogurt or FortiFlora (a Purina product)especially when used on a long-term basis
