what are the treatments for a cat with breathing problems? He has been to a vet before for the same issue several years ago-was told it was hairball. It is not. I have heard cats can have asthma-starts as a choking with wheezing and lasts for less than a couple minutes then he is okay.I think it is asthma . I have a friend with a cat with the same thing, her vet is treating it with steriods. I would like to know how serious asthma is in a cat and treatment for it? thanks Deborah |

Ashtma sometimes connected with allergy. Why don't you try to do allergen test for your cat? Perhaps it helps to find out what's the main problem. When animal hv difficulty to breath, that's dangerous. So what ur vet's advice to control ur cat's ashtma? I suggest u to prepare mini oxigen can for the 1st aid if the asthma come again and may be sprayer drug which contain aminophyline or theophyline as bronchodilatator. Do u also took an xray photo on ur cat's neck? Difficulty to breath sometimes looks like coughing, sometimes diagnosed to tracheal collaps. It happened because the cartilage ring on the animal trachea can't dilatate in normal size because it lacks of glukosamine. So the treatment is glukosamine supplement for everyday to maintain tracheal condition. |
